I was stupidly ignorant to the beauty of cold noodle dishes until this summer, when a group of Korean-American pilgrim padres made them for me as lunch (I made them vegetarian Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner, as a kind of cultural exchange). Since then I am addicted and have to have cold noodle soup or similar once a week. Only concession I have to my usual dislike of anything Korean food (and, eww, TV or Music).

@mikka I was lucky enough to get introduced to them while in Boston - given the summers having some cool food was essential 😅

Can't understand no liking Korean food, it's one of ky favourite cuisines. But then again, I'm usually not a big fan if Italian, except in Italy... So tastes vary!

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social Might just be me. I am generally a HUGE fan of the art and craft that goes into Asian dishes, but not a fan of the (imho) unwarranted, thoughtless deification of anything Asian food. I do love the tastes of Burmese/Myanmar, Philippine, and some Bangladeshi foods, but don't really "vibe" with the closed Korean ecosystem.
